The
Fire Trick Revealed
Effect:
Imagine you are in a situation in which someone
is asking you for fire. You say you don't have a lighter with you but
you remember you have a match in your pocket. You take it out, and
instantly the match catches fire. The surprise of this fire trick is
tremendous.
Equipment:
| A box of matches, at least one match, and two paperclips. A safety pin is optional. |

Preparation:
- Cut
the outer box of matches; unfold it so that there are 2 rough
sides (Photo 2).

- Fold
the outer box, placing the 2 rough sides facing each other.
|

- The
match is placed between the 2 rough sides of the box.

- Place the
two paperclips at each small side of the folded box. Your gimmick is
ready to work. Pulling out the match from it, the match will strike
on the rough sides of the box and will instantly flame up.

Note
that you will have to secure this gimmick on your pocket with a
safety pin or at least, hold the gimmick with one hand while you are
pulling out the match with the other hand, so that if you pull on the
match, the gimmick doesn't come with it.
