How to perform the Hindu Shuffle


Hold the pack of cards in your right hand, have the left hand ready to receive the cards.

Place the deck of cards so that your left index finger is on the small side of the cards, your left thumb and middle fingers are on the large side's cards. The deck of cards is therefore wedged.

Take out a block of cards from your right hand to your left hand grasping the top cards with your left thumb and middle finger. Taking out a block of cards

Separate the two blocks of cards by moving your right hand, your left hand is immobile. Separating the 2 blocks

Drop the cards on the palm of your left hand and perform again and again the same motions until you have shuffled the entire deck of cards. Dropping the cards on the palm

The Hindu shuffle is useful to force the bottom card. While you are performing the Hindu Shuffle, the spectator says stop, show him the bottom card in your right hand which is the initial bottom card of the entire deck. You give the feeling that the spectator has chosen a card randomly but in fact you have forced it. There are many tricks which can be performed forcing a card; in fact this is the magician's cornerstone to master the base of magic tricks.
